Dies Irae draws its inspiration from a Latin-language poetic composition dating from the 13th century and attributed to Thomas of Celano. It is a vision of the day of judgment, between divine salvation and eternal flames, on which Maria W Horn builds a pièce for female vocal quartet and electronics.
The pièce premiered in Chiesa di Gesù Redentore, Modena, for 2021 NODE Festival edition.
